About This Course
This course targets English for Specific Purposes (ESP) training for students to get familiar with the workplace culture, common practice, and discourse. Language knowledge and skills pertaining to job application, business etiquette, meetings, presentations for effective communication, and basic socio-economic knowledge will be covered and practiced. In this course, students are guided to prepare their personal digital portfolio in order to help them market themselves and embark career development. They also becomes aware of their learning needs for ESP and develop four skills to effectively engage in international/intercultural communication at work while elevating their employability competence. Three foci comprise the core of coursework: 1. weekly tasks, 2. research and 3. class participation.
